Last updated: 1 January 1970
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the Comparify Price Promise ("Price Promise"). By submitting a claim under the Price Promise, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. The Promise
If, within 30 days of purchasing an Eligible Policy through Comparify, you identify the same policy available from the same insurer at a lower Standard Annual Premium, Comparify will pay you, in cash, an amount equal to 200% of the difference between the Standard Annual Premium quoted to you by Comparify and the verified lower Standard Annual Premium, subject to these Terms.
2. Definitions
In these Terms:
"Comparify" means Comparify Pty Ltd (ABN 78 665 886 644) and its related bodies corporate.
"Eligible Policy" means a private health insurance policy issued by an Australian-registered private health insurer that you purchased through Comparify (whether online at comparify.com.au or by telephone through a Comparify consultant) on or after the launch date of the Price Promise.
"Standard Annual Premium" means the standard, publicly available 12-month premium for the relevant policy as set by the insurer, calculated before the application of the Australian Government Rebate on private health insurance, and excluding any discount, rebate, promotional offer, corporate or group discount, employer subsidy, loyalty bonus, payment-frequency discount, broker incentive, sign-up bonus, free weeks, gift card, cashback, or other adjustment not generally available to all members of the public on the same terms.
"You" and "Your" mean the policyholder named on the Eligible Policy.
3. Eligibility
To make a claim under the Price Promise, all of the following must apply:
(a) You purchased the Eligible Policy through Comparify;
(b) You are the policyholder named on the Eligible Policy and were 18 years or older and an Australian resident at the date of purchase;
(c) The Eligible Policy commenced and remains in force at the date of your claim, and has been continuously in force for the full 30 days following its commencement date;
(d) All premiums payable on the Eligible Policy have been paid in full and on time;
(e) You submit a complete claim in writing in accordance with clause 4 within 30 days of the commencement date of the Eligible Policy;
(f) The lower Standard Annual Premium identified by you was available from the same insurer for an identical policy at the date you purchased through Comparify and at the date of your claim; and
(g) You have not previously made a claim under the Price Promise within the preceding 12 months.
4. How to make a claim
To submit a claim, email pricepromise@comparify.au within the period set out in clause 3(e), and include:
(a) Your full name, date of birth, residential address, and contact phone number;
(b) Your Comparify reference number and purchase confirmation;
(c) The insurer name, the full product name of the Eligible Policy, the policy membership number, and the commencement date;
(d) Full details of the lower Standard Annual Premium you have identified, including the date and channel through which you obtained it; and
(e) Documentary evidence of the lower Standard Annual Premium — for example, a written quote, an official insurer communication, or a date-stamped screenshot from the insurer's website — clearly identifying the insurer, the policy, the premium amount, and the date.
You must cooperate with Comparify in good faith in the verification of your claim, including by providing any further information or authorisations that Comparify reasonably requires.
5. Verification
(a) Comparify will assess your claim and verify the lower Standard Annual Premium directly with the relevant insurer.
(b) Comparify will use reasonable endeavours to determine the outcome of your claim within 30 business days of receipt of a complete claim.
(c) For a claim to succeed, the policy you have identified must be identical in every material respect to the Eligible Policy, including: insurer, hospital cover tier and all inclusions/exclusions, extras cover and all inclusions/exclusions, excess, co-payments, state of residence, membership type (single, couple, family, or single-parent family), age-based discount status, Lifetime Health Cover loading, and any waiting periods, restrictions or limitations.
(d) Comparify's determination as to whether a claim qualifies under these Terms is final, subject to your rights under applicable law.
6. Payment
(a) Where Comparify accepts your claim, Comparify will pay you a cash amount equal to 200% of the difference between (i) the Standard Annual Premium for the Eligible Policy as quoted to you by Comparify at the time of purchase and (ii) the verified lower Standard Annual Premium that is the subject of your claim.
(b) Payment will be made by electronic funds transfer to an Australian bank account held in your name. You are responsible for providing accurate banking details.
(c) Payment will be made within 30 business days of Comparify accepting your claim.
(d) Only one claim may be made per Eligible Policy and per policyholder.
(e) The maximum amount payable under the Price Promise is capped at AUD $2,000 per claim.
(f) Any payment under the Price Promise is made by Comparify as a gesture of customer goodwill and is not made by, or on behalf of, any insurer. You may need to consider any tax implications of receiving the payment; Comparify does not provide tax advice.
7. Exclusions
The Price Promise does not apply, and no payment will be made, where:
(a) The Eligible Policy was purchased through any channel other than Comparify;
(b) The lower premium is the result of a corporate, employer, group, association, affinity, or other discount or arrangement that is not generally available to the public on the same terms;
(c) The lower premium is a promotional, time-limited, or conditional offer (including but not limited to sign-up bonuses, free weeks of cover, waived waiting periods, gift cards, cashback offers, or introductory discounts);
(d) The lower premium results from a change in policy terms, the Australian Government Rebate, your income tier, your age, your state or territory of residence, your family status, or any other change in your circumstances after your purchase through Comparify;
(e) The policies are not identical in every material respect, as set out in clause 5(c);
(f) The Eligible Policy has been cancelled, suspended, downgraded, or amended at the date of the claim;
(g) Comparify forms a reasonable view that the claim involves fraud, misrepresentation, manipulation, or breach of these Terms; or
(h) The claim is not submitted within the time specified in clause 4 or is otherwise incomplete.
8. General
(a) Modification or withdrawal
Comparify may modify these Terms or suspend or withdraw the Price Promise at any time by publishing updated Terms on comparify.com.au. Any change will not affect a claim that is properly on foot, or the eligibility of a policy purchased before the date of the change.
(b) Consumer law
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude, restrict, or modify any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy that applies to you under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) or any other applicable law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Comparify's liability in respect of the Price Promise is limited to the payment described in clause 6.
(c) Not financial advice
The Price Promise is not a financial product, is not insurance, and does not constitute personal or general financial product advice. You should consider whether any private health insurance policy is appropriate for your circumstances before purchasing.
(d) Privacy
Personal information collected in connection with a Price Promise claim is collected, used, and disclosed in accordance with the Comparify Privacy Policy. By submitting a claim, you consent to Comparify contacting your insurer to verify your claim.
(e) Other terms
These Terms operate together with the Comparify Website Terms of Use and Comparify Privacy Policy. In the event of inconsistency, these Terms prevail in respect of the Price Promise.
(f) Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia. You and Comparify submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria and the courts competent to hear appeals from them.
