The reality: it depends.

Not on what you need but on what state you’re in.

Certain health insurers are cheaper in certain states.

As an example, HCF is ridiculously cheap in WA, but in Victoria… not so much.

 Now, whilst going for the cheapest plan might be tempting, there's another way to find good health insurance plans at a discount.

 Before I tell you the way to find good health insurance plans with a heavy discount, I need to tell you something.

 Dont go for cheap bare bones policies.. Get a plan that actually covers your needs because the last thing you want is to go to the hospital only to be smacked with a multi-thousand-dollar bill.

 Now here it is… the hack that will get you top-level plans for the same price as the bare bones covers you've been looking at… Every 12 months, look around for big weeks free deals (6-12 weeks free), but make sure you're getting these weeks free upfront. Look into the fine print, with some deals you will get the entire free period after 2 months… and some deals will spread the weeks free out over 2-3 years (not so good). 

 If a policy costs $450 per month and comes with an upfront 8-week free deal, that means you’re only actually paying $380 per month for that year.
